    Hi Greg
I am from the UK and a Grandpa to four grandchildren
My daughter asked me if there is a internet filter site for her young ones. I found your great site and want to recommend it to her. I need to also give her instructions on the setup and usage of your browser, like
    Where to set the password
How to set the computer back for normal use
Can she allow other safe web sites to your list like the BBC Cbeebies.( www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies )

Do you have a instruction page I can forward on to her

Lastly I waited for a registration email ack but none came so I took a gamble that I was loaded in.

    Hi David,

I've posted several suggestions but Greg hasn't responded to me either.
As far as I can tell, there isn't an instruction area on how to setup the browser. As far as I can tell, just by setting it up myself for my daughter, it's pretty easy.

    Procedure for Setup:
Just download the software and place it anywhere in your computer or just place it in a folder on the desktop.
All the necessary files will be created in a folder when the browser is launched and configured.
Once you have launched the browser, you then go into Admin.
There is an option to set a password. It seems that each time KidRocket launches, the browser will be locked so the kids can't change any settings you set.
What I've done, is to create a shortcut in the Start Menu so the browser will launch automatically each time the computer is turned on so KidRocket launches immediately and locks the desktop. This way my daughter can't change any settings.

As far as I can tell from reading some of the other posts, Greg has said that adding websites will be added in the future so right now, you are locked into whatever is currently there.

    Hope this helps your daughter.

Oh, I forgot to mention, once you have gone back into Admin and typed in the password, the browser is unlocked. You then have to go back into Admin to re-lock the browser. This is important since you may forget to re-lock the browser after you've made changes or exited the browser. Say for instance, if your kid wants to use some other game/application you have on the computer and you exit the browser to access the desktop for them, then after they play a game that you have on the computer they want to go back online. You then relaunch the kidrocket browser, you have to go back into Admin to set the password again to lock the browser. If you don't, then your kid can get out of the browser. This can be a little tricky since if your kid is sitting there watching you, you don't want them to know what your password is. :>

    Hope this helps.

Sorry guys, been out of town for the holiday.
Last shindig of summer, so I'll be around from now on.

If you need anything else? just ask! ;)

    Hi Jeff
    Many thanks for your input.
I will now forward the details to my daughter.
I must admit I quite enjoyed playing some of the website games.
( Just so I can help the grandchildren of course)

I'll have some step by step videos for everyone, as soon as Kidrocket's feature list is finalized.
Where the features and interface are still changing, its a ton of work to void with a change to the browser.

    Cheers :)
